Another new date

Cool... I've got a date tomorrow night with New One (Rugby Fan!).

He sounds like fun! He seems nice (tm), because he gets hangovers, he's busy, and he *sounds* like he's got a sense of humour (oh, Bruv... his laugh doesn't annoy me either!)

So, we're going for a coffee (aka wine!) tomorrow night. Now, I'm not meeting him in the bar downstairs, because I'm pretty sure the staff will begin to talk! So I'm venturing out over the road for this one :)

I've spoke (quite seriously) last night to Sweet Guy. He wanted to meet tonight, but I couldn't (in fact I'm seriously lacking babysitters this week). He's still being a bit intense, so I've told him I'm only after some lighthearted kind of dating.

I think I've worked out the problem I've been getting. If I meet Potentials too soon after the initial "mutual contact" I don't really get to know them enough in a "virtual way". So really speaking I should give it a couple of weeks before meeting any of them 'face to face'. Having said that, I've only had 'mutual contact' with New One (Rugby Fan) since the weekend.

So I guess if this one goes the same way at least I can be a bit more sure my theory is right!

The guy who's name I got mixed up has finally given up (thank the lord!), but I did have another mixed up moment last night. Sweet Guy called, and I mentioned something about his flatmate. He doesn't have a flatmate, he says. Bugger... wrong profile again!

And... bless. This other new Potential (again from the weekend) who I don't think I've mentioned yet. He seemed OK at first, but yesterday sent me a poem. Sweet, you may think... only the poem was about an iron bridge that goes nowhere. I know... poetry is a bit like art, and what's good for some is not good for others. Well, I showed my son, who just looked at me and said "block him"!!

Superhero is still in touch daily... he's said the next time I'm in London shall we meet for cocktails.

Ooh, and Dubliner 1 of 2 (with Wine Cellar) wants to know if I fancy going camping with him, in the Kalahari!!! Sounds like a plan... but where will he put the wine??

Two dates down (the pan)

Time for an update. I'm slowly getting the picture of some of these guys doing online dating. Needy... desperately needy.

I don't get it. Sunday... good day at golf. One funny moment after the game, at the dinner/presentation. Chatting to the gentleman (they really are gentlemen at the club) I'd played with, and he asked me if I had a "regular man" in my life?? Ummm... I'm thinking, it depends what week you ask me!

So the date after. I had a nice time. Sweet Guy is a sweet guy indeed, but he's started to go the way of some of the others... too much too soon. All I want is a laugh, and the odd date. Instead I get the "where do you see us going"? Question!! It seriously puts me off.

And then today. A fabulous sounding date with (Not) Earthy Kind. The All Star Cup, lots of celebrities, nice lunch, a couple of glasses of wine.

Perfect?

Yes... until I get the "where do you see us going?" question... again!!

A good date spoiled.

Now, I know by default these guys are looking to meet someone new because they're doing online dating (I am too), but getting all heavy after just one or two dates freaks me out a little. It doesn't bode well for the future when they mention I don't seem to have a lot of time for them, but hey... I work full time, I'm a mum, I've got a beloved family to scrounge food off, and a time consuming hobby (that's golf, not dating!!). This dating was supposed to compilment my life, not complicate it.

So I'm going through my list now crossing off any with even have a hint of neediness (including the guy who's name I mixed up, who still calls every day. If someone had done that to me I'd be seriously peeved).

However, I have just had a really cool chat with New One (rugby fan). He sounds cool... suffering from a hangover, AND he's had a busy weekend - so not poised ready to pop the dreaded question (I hope!). We're hoping to meet up later this week :)

And Dubliner 1 0f 2 (with Wine Cellar) has sent a fab email. Now he's definitely my favourite. No routine to his calls or emails. No serious questions, and he's far enough away not to be in my pocket (and he has wine!)

Perfect!

Another day, another date!

Sunday already (my Bruv is away so I haven't been nagged to update this!).

I didn't go out on Friday after all - it seemed just too complicated! Plus it gave me a chance to catch up on all my Potentials! I've got some more new ones, and guess what - another rugby season ticket holder.

This is going to get so complicated. I promised my Bruv I will go along with him to the next game (this Friday). Now I know three of my Potentials are season ticket holders... all I can say is shit!!!

This New One has suggested meeting up before the game, and Sweet Guy has suggested meeting up after the game. Add to the mix Dubliner 1 of 2 (with Wine Cellar), who if I remember correctly is planning to come over, and suggested going along to the game (he's a fan of the opposition)! Ooh, and Third Date Possible (who I'm going off) is going too.

It would be just my luck for them to all be sitting together! Anyway, I'll work that out later in the week (Bruv, I'm going with you!). For now I've more immediate things to think about - a date this evening!

Yep... I'm meeting Sweet Guy for a drink after my golf competition today, where incidentally I've got a quickie with Gorgeous H... quickie as in 5 minutes to check my swing so I don't totally shame myself ;)

Then drinks (downstairs) with Sweet Guy!

I'll need to squeeze in between golf and Sweet Guy to call (Not) Earthy kind, who's taking me to the All Star Cup tomorrow! What a brilliant date that's going to be... a whole day, and the chance to touch Ant & Dec!

I think after tomorrows date I'm going to have to sit down and work out some sort of plan. I've obviously got too many Potentials on the go now!!

It had to happen (II)

My final lesson with Gorgeous H tonight, and I guess the lessons have been worth it, because I was seriously outstanding! So with a tear in my eye was ready to say goodbye.

But no goodbye was necessary. Gorgeous H has recommended a couple of weeks of practice, and then if I feel like it I should have another lesson! Apparently good golfers never stop having lessons.

My life is perfect :)

Anyway, enough of Gorgeous H, on to my Potentials.

Sweet Guy has been in touch. He's off to the rubgy tomorrow, and wondered if I fancy joining him for a drink afterwards.

Third Date Possible has been in touch. He's off to the rugby tomorrow, and wondered if I fancy joining him for a drink afterwards.

No, that's not a ditzy cut and paste there. They're both going to the rugby, and they both want to meet (me, not each other) for a drink afterwards! Oh dear!

So, a major dilemma there then! You see, I kind of half said yes to Sweet Guy (just one drink in the bar downstairs), but knowing how much Third Date Possible likes the bar downstairs, I would run the risk of them meeting! So if I am going to meet Sweet Guy it's going to have to be somewhere else!

So, I'm going to turn down both of them (me... turning down dates now).

And remember the guy from yesterday, where I got his name mixed up? Well, either he didn't notice, or doesn't mind, but he's emailed to see if I fancied meeting him...

you guessed it...tomorrow night!!

It had to happen

I've got my Potentials all mixed up, and just sent one an email that starts "Hi (insert name here),".

You can probably guess what I did, but just in case you're as oblivious to reality as me... Yes, I've put the wrong bloody name there!!

Oops :)

One millisecond AFTER I pressed send I realised my mistake! I blame my day today... huge tailbacks due to a chocolate covered motorway :/

Anyway, more importantly... last nights date.

So much fun - this guy is me, just in male form!! Now I'm not going to go all mushy and say we're soulmates, but so far there have been some seriously jaw dropping moments when he/I do or say something that is so uncannily similar it's a little bit scary!

We had a fab time, two bottles of beautiful red wine (not ideal as I had to be up, out and driving at 7:00am!), some gorgeous tapas, then back to mine for coffee!

Only coffee, for those of you sniggering!

Today I've had sweet texts of him, and (Not) Earthy Kind (plus a one hour call), a new wink off a surfer (sea, not web), and guy from Brighton, emails of both Dubliners (and Dubliner 2 of 2 (with wine cellar) is making his arrangements to come over , and the Superhero

Now, I need to go to bed early for some beauty sleep... It's my final lesson with Gorgeous H!! We're apparently walking the course (whatever that means).

So can you all pray for glorious sunshine tomorrow... please?
